When travelling to Costa Rica, you will likely have the Monteverde Cloud Forest on your bucket list for it's biodiversity and beauty. However, tucked away beside the welcome center is a Hummingbird Garden that offers an extraordinary opportunity to get up-and-close with these beautiful creatures.
At the Selvatura Hummingbird Garden, you can observe up to 14 different species of hummingbirds, displaying their beautiful iridescent colours. What's even more fascinating is that the birds are accustomed to human visitors and will zip around you as you walk through the gardens. My favourite part of the experience was the chance to have a hummingbird perch on my fingers to drink out of the feeders - Im that moment, I truly felt like a Disney princess!
