Hole in the Wall
2023-09-01
On a rainy afternoon in Galway, we serendipitously stumbled upon a tiny bar on Eyre Street in search of shelter from the rain and hoping for a swift pint until the weather passed. Little did we know that this unassuming bar would be a trove of character and charm.
While from outside, the "Hole in the Wall" looks tiny enough to be a cottage, it does stand out with its intriguing exterior - dark green walls, a thatched straw roof and a welcoming electric pink door. When you enter the bar, it sprawls into a very spacious pub with several rooms. Each nook and cranny is decorated with vintage items on shelves and the walls.
One room in particular caught our attention - a dazzling space where two pianos hang upside down from the ceiling, a sight not to be missed. Be sure to bring your camera to snap many photo ops.
What was initially intended as a short pit stop turned into several hours (and pints), as we were spellbound by the charm of the Hole in the Wall. The music, plush couches, and ambiance contributed to a memorable rainy afternoon in Galway!
