Kyteler's Inn

Did you know that there is a restaurant in Kilkenny, Ireland that was said to be owned by Ireland's first-known witch?
The Kyteler's Inn was originally owned in the 13th century by Dame Alice le Kyteler, who was a Kilkenny native. After four husbands and a countless fortune, suspicions were raised when her last husband mysteriously died. After deeming her to be be a witch and sentencing her to be burned at the stake on charges of witchcraft, Dame Alice fled to England to avoid persecution. Over the years, the Inn has remained in operation, until in 1986, it was sold to its present owner who has transformed the Inn into a charming restaurant.
Being interested in all things witchy and spiritual, I knew I had dine at the hauntingly fascinating spot. We were seated in the covered courtyard, but I spent a lot of time walking through the restaurant and exploring the various nooks and decor, of course, I stopped to check out the famous statue of Alice at the entrance. If you're in for a bit of Hocus Pocus, be sure to pop into Kyteler's Inn while you're in Kilkenny!
So many interesting rooms in the restaurant to explore!
