Clärchens Ballhaus

Clärchens Ballhaus is a fun and eccentric bar in the heart of Berlin that is worth a stop for a pint or two! 

Opened by Clara and Frirz Bühler in 1913, this dance hall will transport you back in time to a fun and carefree era. For over a century, this ballroom has been a prominent source of entertainment in the heart of Berlin. In fact, it is one of the last ball houses in Germany from the 20th century.

Preserving its 20th-century Art Nouveau architecture, the hall boasts intricate and interesting crown moldings, high ceilings and captivating decor. Be sure to check out the Hall of Mirrors, which remains in its original state and is a truly a wonder to behold. 

When we visited in the evening for drinks and dancing , we encountered a bit of a line-up, but the experience was well worth the wait. As soon as we stepped inside, we were met with lively music, an energetic crowd and a wonderful atmosphere. The main dance hall exudes the charm of vintage prom auditorium, with a disco ball at its center.  The dance floor was brimming with people of all ages, from locals to tourists alike!  If dancing is not your cup of tea, there is an outdoor seating in the front available for a more laid-back experience.
