Lennon Wall in Prague Czech Republic

For any Beatles fan, a stop at the Lennon wall in Prague, Czech Republic is an absolute must!

Just a short walk from the famous Charles Bridge lies the colourful tribute to the Beatles legend, John Lennon. The wall was originally a space where locals would rally against the communist regime and the political struggles at the time. John Lennon, a symbol of freedom later became the face of the wall, as it was at the time banned to play pop culture music.

The wall began to transform into a tribute to John Lennon after the 1980s. The anti-establishment rhetoric changed to messages of peace and love. The wall is now bright images of John Lennon, peace signs and lyrics. Even Yoko Ono herself visited the wall in the early 2000s.

While originally the images were covered up, artists continued to paint the wall and it remains today a unique piece of street art in the heart of Prague. If you are a fan of street art, you must check out the always evolving tribute.
