Carousel Bar

In the lobby of Hotel Monteleone in New Orleans is one of the coolest bars I have encountered: a carousel bar!

The Carousel Bar is a merry-go-round where you can sit for a cocktail while going for a ride, literally as the bar itself revolves. A staple in New Orleans since 1949, it is popular among locals and tourists alike. Nestled in the French Quarter, the bar hosts live music and entertainment and creates a unique atmosphere to enjoy a drink.

I ordered the French 75 and it was a perfect start to my New Orleans trip.

Know before you go: The bar gets quite busy so be sure to go with enough time to try to grab a spot when it comes available. There is also another seating area close to the carousel where you can enjoy a drink if it's too busy to ride the merry-go-round. The Carousel Bar is a long-time and beloved hotspot and it's truly one of its kind. Once you stop in you will understand what all the hype is about.
