The Dulle Griet Bar is by far the most unique bar in Belgium, offering over 500 different brands of beer, living up to the beer-loving sentiment in Belgium. The bar itself resembles an 'eye spy' book, where everywhere you look around the bar you'll discover something eclectic or odd.
What makes the bar truly special is ordering the bar's signature Max Beer. It is served in a massive glass that resembles an hourglass. The glass itself is so unique that you actually have to put down a deposit for it....but not the kind you'd expect. The bartender will come to your table and request on of your shoes, which is then placed in a basket and hoisted to the ceiling. You can only recover your shoe when you finish the beer and return the glass.
If your suitcase can afford the room, you can buy a glass for the hefty price of 90 euros per glass.
Before you go: This bar only accepts cash payments so be sure to carry some euros with you.
The only place in the world where you have to give a show as a deposit for a beer.
