Bled Castle Wine Cellar

While you may have Bled Castle on your Slovenia itinerary, tucked away in a corner of the castle is a hidden gem - a functional wine cellar. 

You can choose to taste more than twenty different wines in a unique, medieval setting. What's even cooler about this wine cellar is that not only can you taste the wines, but they also demonstrate the old bottling process. If you'd like to participate in bottling the wine, you will fill a bottle, plug and wax it. They will also issue you a commemorative certificate to prove you participated in the bottling process. To take it even a step further, there is also the option to open a bottle of sparkling wine with a sword!

We took in the tastes, scents and colours of the cellar and truly enjoyed the one-of-a-kind experience. I would highly recommend visiting the cellar on any trip to Lake Bled.
