Salzburg beerhall Augustiner

If you're a beer lover and seeking a unique experience in Salzburg, look no further than the Augustiner Bräustübl. This 600-year-old establishment serves delicious beer brewed by the monks. They also offer traditional food such as pork knuckle and roast.

The beer they serve is a Maerzenbier with a 4.6% ABV. Upon arrival, you purchase a beer ticket and choose a 500ml or 1L clay beer stein from the rack. Then, you raise your glass to the fountain and present your ticket to the monk, who will fill up your mug. The price for beer is €3 for 500ml and €6 for 1L. Once you have your beer, you can find a seat at one of the long wooden tables in the beer hall. The hall itself is spacious and can accommodate large groups. In good weather, there is also an outdoor seating area, although it was closed during our visit in the off-season.

Augustiner Bräustübl offers a truly unique experience that sets it apart from your average brewpub. I highly recommend adding it to your Salzburg itinerary.
