Arthur Mayne's Pharmacy Bar

When it comes to seeking out unique bars and restaurants, my search always leads me to hidden gems with that elusive speakeasy vibe. Little did I know, there was a unique hotspotI located right in the heart of Cork. Ireland! 

Arthur Mayne's Pharmacy is an 102-year old pharmacy turned bar offering up food and drinks with a unique atmosphere. As you sit at the bar awaiting your drinks, you can see many of the old pharmacy logbooks encased in glass as well as revel at the many artifacts on display in the cabinets. If time affords you, there is also a very big beer garden at the back of the bar which we didn't have time to visit. 

It's not simply the ambiance that attracts you to Arthur Mayne's - the menu, primarily featuring tapas-style dishes draws you in. A standout for me were the halloumi skewers.  What I also really liked about the menu is that they list all allergens in each dish, including fish, gluten, sulphites and many other common allergens.

Even on a busy day in Cork, there is plenty of time to pop into Arthur Mayne's for a cocktail or small bite. It's a unique experience that unites history with modern touches and creates a unique vibe that's not to be missed.
